Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, the Moreno Valley City Council, and hundreds of community members welcomed Sprouts Farmers Market to Moreno Valley on Friday, July 8.
Over 500 people attended the early morning grand opening event, with lines of excited shoppers stretching around the building. Shoppers were treated to free artisan coffee, and the grand opening event featured a Canyon Springs High School band performance.
“I am thrilled to see Sprouts receive such an enthusiastic welcome from the Moreno Valley community,” said Mayor Gutierrez. “As a Sprouts fan myself, I look forward to shopping here for the finest organic and natural foods and groceries. With the opening of Sprouts Farmers Market, Moreno Valley’s future is brighter and healthier than ever.”
In a show of goodwill to the community, Sprouts has agreed to donate $5,000 toward the City’s new Community Demonstration Garden. The donation was revealed during the grand opening ceremony.
Sprouts Farmers Market, located at 24101 Hemlock Avenue, is the latest specialty grocery store to open in Moreno Valley. Sprouts is known for providing natural and organic foods and groceries, many of which are sourced from local merchants and farms.
The opening of Sprouts allows a greater diversity of healthy grocery options to the Moreno Valley community. Sprouts is yet another dependable source of local employment, and sales tax revenue from businesses like Sprouts will lead to more significant public safety and community services funding.
Sprouts is the latest exciting business to open in The District, a new shopping center along Hemlock Avenue. The District, owned and operated by Ledo Capital Group, also features the newly-opened WSS Shoes and will soon open Starbucks, Joint Chiropractic, and 7-Eleven.
