The City of Moreno Valley celebrated the June 4th grand opening of a new Smart & Final Extra! store at the northeast corner of Alessandro Blvd. and Perris Blvd., in Moreno Valley.

The new Moreno Valley store is a full-size Smart & Final Extra! store that will create more than 50 new jobs for the area.

Smart & Final, one of the longest operating food retailers in the nation, is a value-oriented food and staples retailer for household and business customers.  Headquartered in Los Angeles, the company operates approximately 250 stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho, with an additional 14 stores in northern Mexico operated through a joint venture.

Smart & Final shoppers will enjoy a full produce section, organic and natural food products, high quality perishables, and meats, plus a wide selection of private label offerings.  Additionally, the new store includes expanded frozen, deli and meat selections and unique products such as bulk items and oven-roasted chicken. The store offers a one-stop shopping experience where businesses, clubs and organizations, and households can purchase their groceries while also stocking up on thousands of club-size products.

Last week’s grand opening was preceded by a ribbon cutting that was well attended by civic, business and community leaders including Moreno Valley Mayor Jesse L. Molina.

“We are rebuilding Moreno Valley and are happy to welcome Smart & Final back to the city,” said Mayor Molina. “The store is great for one-stop shopping and has all the features that anyone would want,” the Mayor said.
