City Celebrates Grand Opening of New Moreno Valley Museum & ArtSpace
Moreno Valley, CA. (October 13, 2026) – The City of Moreno Valley celebrated the new Moreno Valley Museum & ArtSpace on Monday, October 12, marking an exciting new chapter for arts, culture, and community experiences in the City.
Located at the Moreno Valley Mall, the special invite-only celebration brought together community leaders, partners, and invited guests to commemorate the opening of an innovative new cultural destination created through a partnership between the City of Moreno Valley and Lighthouse Immersive.
The celebration began with a ceremony at 5:00 p.m. Later in the evening, guests had the opportunity to experience Immersive Van Gogh: The Next Chapter, offering a spectacular introduction to the Museum & ArtSpace’s immersive artistic experiences.
The space brings together Moreno Valley’s history, culture, art, and creativity in an interactive environment designed to inspire residents and attract visitors.
The destination features an interactive museum, immersive exhibition space, event space, curated retail, and a café. Its inaugural immersive experience, Immersive Van Gogh: The Next Chapter, invites guests to experience the life and work of Vincent van Gogh through large-scale projections, sound, and innovative storytelling.
The Museum & ArtSpace is also creating new opportunities for artists through the City’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program, which highlights artists and their work as part of the experience. The AIR application portal is now active, allowing potential artists-in-residence to apply and upload their work for consideration.
Artists interested in participating can learn more and submit their work through the City’s Artist-in-Residence portal at morenovalleymuseum.com/artist-in-residence.
The opening represents another milestone in Moreno Valley’s continued growth and provides residents with a new place to discover local history, experience art, gather with family and friends, and enjoy creative experiences close to home.
“We are proud to welcome the Moreno Valley Museum & ArtSpace to our community and celebrate this exciting new destination,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “This is a game changer for Moreno Valley and another exciting step toward the future we’re building together.”
“This Museum & ArtSpace is an investment in our residents and in the experiences that make a community feel like home. Having grown up here and raised my own family in Moreno Valley — and now watching the next generation of my family grow up here — I know how important it is for our children and families to have places in their own community where they can learn, explore, and make memories together,” said Councilmember Elena Baca-Santa Cruz. “This is about giving our young people opportunities that many of us had to leave Moreno Valley to experience when we were growing up. Now they’ll have a place right here at home to experience art and culture and see themselves reflected in the creativity and history of their own community.”
While the October 12 celebration was a special invite-only event, the Moreno Valley Museum & ArtSpace has been open to the public since September 25.
